Disaster Services
High winds cause serious
property damage in March 2002. Each year your local American Red Cross Disaster Action Team Volunteers (DAT's) respond to a number of disasters through out Sandusky County, ranging from house fires, multi-family fires, winter storms, and flooding. DAT's also work in our community to help you, our neighbors, prepare for and cope with emergencies. We provide information to help you plan for specific types of disasters, prevent injuries, save lives, and reduce the loss of property. Information is available in brochures at your American Red Cross in Sandusky County Office. You may also request a speaker, or a training class for your group on a specific issue. Direct Disaster Relief This assistance is designed to enable the disaster victim to resume living independently by providing the means to pay for what they need immediately, including groceries, clothing and medicines. All assistance is given on an individual basis and is always based on a verified disaster-created need. All American Red Cross disaster relief is provided free of charge and is made possible by the generous financial support of our community. It is also the result of dedicated volunteers donating their time and skills. For more information on disaster services see: American Red Cross - Disaster Services Disaster
