Health and Safety Services

For over 80 years, the American Red Cross has trained millions of people in health and safety education, including lifesaving and water safety skills.   Whether you have a defined duty to act in emergencies or are a member of the community who wants to know how to help in an emergency, we have a broad scope of programs from which to choose.

For additional course information, contact the American Red Cross at (419) 332-5574.

Important Information Regarding Registering for Classes
As of June 1, 2007 the Sandusky River Chapter of the American Red Cross will implement a new policy regarding registering for Health and Safety classes.   Payment for classes must be received at least two business days prior to the class date in order to be registered. We will no longer bill agencies but instead will expect clients to pay for the classes in advance.*  Payments may be made with cash, check or money order. All payments that are being mailed must be sent to the office that is hosting the class (Fremont or Tiffin) and must include the name, address, and phone number for the student(s) that are being registered.

Participants who wish to transfer to another class should call our office 48 hours prior to their original class date.  We will make every effort to accommodate the request, however, transfers made any later than 48 hours after the original class date will not be honored.

Our chapter will also implement a no refund policy beginning June 1, 2007. Participants who wish to transfer to another class should call our office 48 hours prior to their original class date.  We will make every effort to accommodate the request; however, transfers made any later than 48 hours after the original class date will not be honored.

*Anyone that registered for classes dated June 1 and later prior to this policy change will not be expected to pay for the classes up front.

Classes may be cancelled due to inclement weather, unavailability of instructor or insufficent class size.  Each class  requires a minimum registration of  6 people.

This policy is designed to ensure that our volunteer instructors can provide the most rewarding learning experience possible to the citizens of Sandusky and Seneca Counties.
